A Word From the Principal:
Dear Parents,
"June 12th is the last day of the 2007-2008 school year."
Can you believe that school ends in one month from today? In these final weeks teachers will be completing their lesson plans to promote the students to the next grade level. Throughout the year teachers have integrated outside field trips and special activities with the indoor classroom lessons to make learning come alive.
This week our middle school students are away on their extended field trips: 6th and 7th graders are at Pine Summit Camp in Big Bear for a week studying nature, ecology and team building. The 8th graders are in Washington D.C. for a week of exploring our nation's history by visiting the Capital building, historical monuments, the Smithsonian museums, Jamestown, the Arlington National Cemetery and the battlefields of Gettysburg.
Last week the 3rd graders were at Ironwood Camp in the high desert on a two-day excursion to learn about the life of cowboys in the old west. At the same time the 4th graders were in Sacramento and San Francisco learning about our state's history and our system of government.
These are experiences that bring reality to the years of classroom lessons. I commend you parents for supporting the teachers and the school program by funding these trips. It is an investment in your children's lifetime education. Who knows what these experiences will spark in their minds. They are the future leaders, professionals and business people of this generation.
On behalf of all the teachers, support team and myself I want to Thank students, parents and our super PTL Board for the overwhelming expressions of love last week during 'Appreciation Week'. The fruit, flowers, treats, and lunch was wonderful! It is a joy and a blessing for us to serve you and your children through Christian education. May you receive God's abundant blessings for your kindness and thoughtfulness.
