Summer Blast

Summer is just around the corner! Summer Blast is a place where children can build social confidence, try new activities, and create lasting friendships.  It is a place where students can safely experience taking risks, overcoming challenges, and developing independent decision making skills. Our Summer Blast counselors foster a supportive and fun environment for children to enjoy their summer break, always encouraging them to practice empathy, compassion, and love. We hope to see your kids this summer!

  • Dates and hours?
    • June 22 – August 21, 2020
    • 7:00am – 6:00pm, Monday-Friday
  • Who can register?
    • Summer Blast Camp is open to students who have completed grades Kindergarten through 7th grade. Campers do not have to be Covenant Christian School students.
    • Looking for a place to send your preschooler? Contact the school office to learn about our Summer Fun program.
  • What does it cost?
      • $45 per day and $165 per week
      • $150 per camper (two children)
      • $130 per camper (three or more children)

COVID-19

Health Screening Measures

  • It is our goal to implement screening procedures to identify anyone who exhibits COVID-like symptoms.
    1. Any child or staff exhibiting the following symptoms will be excluded:
      • Fever over 100 degrees Fahrenheit
      • New cough of any kind
      • Shortness of breath
      • Lethargy, overly tired, unusually calm or quiet
      • Mild respiratory illness/issues
    2. If illness is confirmed, the individual will be quarantined immediately and asked to be sent home or picked up ASAP. Please refer to CCS’s Parent/Student Handbook on our sick policy.
    3. Temperature checks will be done upon arrival for staff and students. Confidentiality will be maintained. The need for temperature and symptom screenings will be reassessed weekly based on guidance from CDC and County Health Department.

Facility Safety Measures

  • It is our policy to follow mandated sanitation procedures in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
    1. Facility Safety and Health Guidelines
      • Scheduled sanitation rounds: Morning/After Lunch/Closing
      • High contact surfaces will be wiped clean and sanitized at the end of each day. All hard to clean toys and manipulatives will be removed. 
      • High contact equipment (tables, doorknobs, etc.) will be sanitized throughout the day.
      • Windows opened before and after children arrive to ventilate facility.

Social and Physical Measures

  • It is our goal to model and reinforce social and physical distancing in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 to the greatest extent possible. 
    1. Strategies for social and physical distancing:
      • No more than 10 in one group/room
      • Our groups will be consistent with the same teachers all week
      • We have reconstructed the classroom layout to have physical distancing of 3 to 6 feet between children
      • Frequent verbal reminders given to children about physical distancing
      • Utilizing the gym for games that have physical distance
      • Staggered indoor/outdoor play and adjusted schedules to reduce the number of children in the same area
    2. Practicing Healthy Hygiene:
  • If you plan to send your child to school with a face mask, please discuss with Summer Blast Staff
    • No sharing food or drinks 
      • Every child is to bring their own water bottle provided by their family with their name on it and they are washed by their family every night
    • Practicing strict and frequent handwashing using Happy Birthday (20 second) song rule
    • Tissues will be readily available.
