Grades K-8 visit the library once a week. The purpose of going to library is to spark a love for reading. We work with families and classroom teachers to provide the resources needed to meet student literacy and fluency goals, especially the books needed for our Accelerated Reader program. Elementary students explore literary concepts such as characterization, plot, setting, and prediction. The library is also available for research for upper elementary and middle school.
Every K-8 student takes a weekly technology class. The purpose is to familiarize students with today’s technology and prepare them to use it as they advance academically and professionally. From basic mouse and keyboard skills to proper typing form and coding, our K-8th grade students are equipped to be digitally literate.
What does technology look like inside our classrooms?
- Ipads (kindergarten)
- Cart with class set of laptops (first-fifth grade)
- 1:1 Chromebooks (sixth-eighth grade)
